Export

Export whole dashboard screen or individual chart elements to either PowerPoint, PDF or PNG or export just the data to Excel or CSV.

Sharing and Notifications

Users can share information with each other by annotating the dashboard, for example to highlight unusual figures or trends. Data based notifications can be added to the dashboard to alert users when certain threshold values have been reached for example by sending out an email to the user. This email can even include a screenshot linked to the dashboard showing the activity that triggered the notification.

  • Can I get a copy of my Dashboard in PowerPoint?
    Yes. There is an export facility which allows you to export the Dashboard to PowerPoint. Other available exports include PDF and PNG. You can also export the data behind individual chart objects, or the whole dashboard, to a CSV file.
  • How long does it take to create a Dashboard?
    This depends on the number of screens required and the complexity of each screen but typically it would be about 3 days per screen.
  • Do I need to buy a new machine to put the Dashboard on?
    No. In addition to the creation of the dashboard, we also provide a hosting service thereby removing this headache from you. This is available as a monthly subscription service.
  • Will the Dashboard work on a Mac?
    Yes, the software is fully compatible with the Apple Mac OS X.
  • I am using an old version of Internet Explorer, will the Dashboard still work?
    Depends how old. On Windows, the software supports IE7 or higher and Firefox 2 or higher; on Mac it supports Safari 3 or higher and Firefox 2 or higher.
  • Do you provide training courses for the users?
    No. Dashboards by their very nature are meant to be intuitive to use, however, if you feel that your users will still require help then we can create some simple documentation on how to use your specific dashboard.
  • What kind of application can I integrate the Dashboard into?
    You can integrate into any web application, SharePoint portal or Silverlight application.
  • Do I need my own security on top of this?
    We use Windows integrated LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) security so your security needs are met. We've set it up for straight-forward administration, so groups of users (e.g., the front-level sales staff) don't get to see metrics created for senior management. It's all based on "who gets to see what?" and it's all configurable. If you want, you can have a dashboard that hides data for everyone but the CEO!
  • How does the work with SharePoint?
    Any dashboard created can be viewed directly in SharePoint with our seamlessly integrated viewer control, just choose the dashboard that you would like to see from a list and see it displayed in seconds. Furthermore, the dashboard supports both SharePoint lists and Excel services, right out of the box, so you can retrieve your SharePoint data with ease.
  • Does the Dashboard support real-time data?
    Yes, you can choose your interval. So if you want it to update every few seconds, every minute, every hour, whatever, it's all possible.
  • As an end user, can I customize all the pieces I see on my dashboard?
    In a big way! The new enhanced viewer control gives you the ability to export (images, bookmarks, links, etc.) as well as create dashboard mashups (i.e., the "mashing together" of individual dashboard parts/elements for display on the same dashboard).
  • What types of data visualizations are available?
    A wide variety - your dashboard project can include many different types of charts, gauges, state indicators, legends, grids, custom components, as well as general-purpose controls.
  • Can I have dashboard that is available to the general public?
    Yes. The dashboard can be setup so that it doesn’t need login credentials and so can then be embedded into any web page.
  • Can I build a dashboard into one of my existing websites?
    Yes. The dashboard can be embedded into your web page.
  • Can I host the dashboard myself?
    Yes, but it would mean that you have to purchase a full version of the software yourself.
  • I have a tracking study, how do I update my data each wave?
    Very simply. The dashboard can be setup to automatically read in and refresh the underlying data at scheduled intervals. These intervals can be anything from every a few seconds or minutes, up to weeks or months; basically whatever interval you choose.
  • Can we apply our own branding?
    Yes. When designing the dashboard we can add any look and feel you require; this includes matching your corporate fonts, colours, logos etc.
  • How can I ensure that my end users only see the data that’s relevant to them?
    Our software has built-in user technology that enables us to control who sees what based on their login credentials.
