E-Tabs Enterprise '07 nominated for the 2008 MRS/ASC Technology Effectiveness Award

E-Tabs are pleased to announce the placement of "Enterprise 2007" in the 2008 MRS/ASC Technology Effectiveness Award shortlist. Previous winners of this prestigious award, this is the third time that E-Tabs software has been short-listed.

The MRS/ASC explains that the award aims to bring prominence and recognition to those whose excellence in the application of technology is making an outstanding contribution to market research effectiveness.

In all Microsoft Office releases up to 2003, the file formats have been kept secret forcing automation applications to use COM. While COM is a powerful technology there are speed and stability issues. With Office 2007 Microsoft now uses Open Office XML - a ZIP/XML-based system - for its file format and has publicized details.

Richard Teller, Development Director at E-Tabs explains, The new Open Office XML format poses significant difficulties for traditional automation methods.
